Maurice J. Silva, Commissioner

Commissioner Maurice J. Silva was appointed as a Commissioner to the Parole Board in August 2005 by Governor Kenny Guinn. Prior to his appointment, Commissioner Silva worked as a Licensed Associate in Social Work for the Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services. Commissioner Silva has worked in the Mental Health field for 25 years which included 12 years in Forensic Social Work for Lakes Crossing at the Clark County Detention Center. Commissioner Silva has also worked as the Program Manager for the Mental Health Court and the Program for Assertive Community Treatment.

Commissioner Silva completed his Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and obtained his Bachelors Degree from New Mexico Highlands University.

Originally from New Mexico, Commissioner Silva has resided in Southern Nevada for 27 years.
