NOTICE OF COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF PAROLE STANDARDS TO BE CONDUCTED |
| The Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners will hold a public hearing to conduct a comprehensive review
of the standards adopted by the board as outlined in the Nevada Administrative Code, sections 213.500,
213.510, 213.520, 213.530, 213.540, 213.550 and 213.560. The review has been set for 1:00 p.m., on
Thursday, October 11, 2001, at the Conference Room of the Attorney General's Office located at 555 E.
Washington Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada.

STATEMENT OF NEED AND PURPOSE FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
|
| Pursuant to NRS 213.10885, Sub-section (5), on or before January 1 of each even-numbered year, the Board shall review
comprehensively the standards adopted by the Board. The review must include a determination of whether the standards are
effective in predicting the probability that a convicted person will live and remain at liberty without violating the law if parole
is granted or continued.

| The following denotes action the board may take during the comprehensive review: |
| In the event the board finds that any part of the standard is ineffective including sections outlined in NAC213.500 through NAC213.560, pursuant to NRS 213.10885(5) , the board shall not use that standard. The board may adopt revised standards immediately following or as soon as practicable after the review. |
| The board may take action to discontinue the use of the standard in its current form, change/modify philosophical
principles, change/modify mathematical procedures for the computation of a score, or continue to use the standard in
its current form if no material is presented to show the standard is ineffective, and if no recommendation for change is
made and substantiated.
